Let's Celebrate...It's 2018!!!

Happy New Year families! Today was a great first day back with students! As we get back into the swing of things, we wanted to provide you with a few reminders below...

-We realize it may take a few days for students to get back into the groove of the school day and into a normal routine. While we will be working very diligently to review classroom/school behaviors and expectations with practice an reminders, we would like for you to also discuss these expectations with your child at home. Our school follows the three B's which are: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Peaceful-Problem Solver. Please encourage students to aim for the top of the chart each day and to try their best.

-Students should come to school prepared each school day. This includes bringing their backpack with their homework folder, homework, school agenda and any other necessary items needed for the school day. We tell students that their job is to learn, and we want to ensure they are prepared to learn every single day. Please make sure you are reviewing your child's homework sheet/agenda for their behavior, assignments and notes.

-Homework will continue the first full week back to school. The expectation is that students will complete their homework assignment, daily reading and multiplication fact practice. It is important that students are diligent in completing their homework assignments each evening and that they are returning completed homework the following day. While the homework students bring home should be a REVIEW of already taught reading/math concepts, we encourage you to look over your child's homework for correctness and neatness. It is OK to assist your child should they need it.

-Our school dress code is navy blue, light blue or white collared shirts/sweaters/sweat shirts, navy blue or khaki pants/skirts and school appropriate shoes. Students are also allowed to wear Breckinridge Franklin spirit shirts. Students are expected to tuck their shirts when applicable. Please be on the look out for upcoming PTA dress down or jean days.

As always, we believe in keeping the lines of communication open. We want to hear from you. If you should ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us! We are a team-together we can provide the best learning experience for your child!
